Joe Wilson Opens Bluffton Campaign HQ

With 86 days to go before the November election dozens of Lowcountry, South Carolina residents turned out on Saturday in Bluffton, SC to help Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) and his wife Roxanne (holding the scissors) open the local campaign headquarters for the Congressman's fall re-election effort.
Joe will always be a hero to conservatives for his admittedly intemperate outburst during President Obama's address to Congress in September 2009 where he shouted "YOU LIE" [video] after Obama claimed his health care bill would not cover illegal aliens. Later, the White House conceded that the bill might cover illegals after all as there was no enforcement provision to prevent it.
While other members of Congress may take fancy trips to foreign destinations on the taxpayers dime, Joe Wilson came directly to Bluffton after returning from Afghanistan and the Middle East. This was his 10th visit to Afghanistan and he sees slow progress in what is still a very dangerous situation. The story of his trip is here.
Unlike some Democrats who are avoiding Town Hall meetings with their constituents, Joe has kept up a hectic schedule of events throughout his district and proved he can listen as well as legislate. The Town Hall I attended last year was an overflow crowd eager to hear Joe's views on Obama Care (he's against it).
Joe is a reliable voice for conservatives in his district and I am proud to say I wholeheartedly support him. His campaign web site is here and readers are encouraged to make a donation to his campaign.
SC's Conservative Champion, Jim DeMint, Visits Lowcountry

The Sun City Republican Club held a meeting Tuesday afternoon with U.S. Senator Jim DeMint as the speaker [campaign web site]. Hundreds of Sun City patriots showed up to hear DeMint and many asked questions in the extensive Q&A session which followed. It was a gathering of patriots in the truest sense of the word as evidenced by the meeting which started with a prayer for our country, our troops and our leaders followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. And no one needed help with the words!
DeMint opened his remarks by reminding his audience that no matter what challenges we face in this country, "we have really been blessed" to live in such a great land and we must commit ourselves to "leaving this country in as good a shape as we found it."
What is a trillion? Until recently, we might have thought it was a pre-historic monster, or something from outer space.
Since coming into power, the Obama Administration has been tossing the word around in casual conversation to downplay its real significance. The word "trillion" has been interjected into our vocabulary by our new U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who tries to make it appear as though nothing has changed. For years, we Americans have only reached as high as millions or billions in our thinking. We have been brainwashed into believing that anything is acceptable, if the powers that be say so.
Senator Strom Thurmond -1968 Viewpoint Press 185 pages

Have you ever picked up a book with the preamble of the US Constitution on the cover written by Senator Strom Thurmond in 1968 and thought this book must be worth reading? I found The Faith We Have Not Kept and wish to write you a summary of a book that that has not lost its original conservative luster. The book begins with a concise summary of the achievements of Senator Thurmond. It is amazing that one human could accomplish so much and we in hindsight know he had near 40 additional years of national service.
Hilton Head Signs and Sgt. White's Diner in Beaufort were eager to show our Congressman their places of business and put him to work. Congressman Joe Wilson always comes to Beaufort County to visit, listen to our concerns and help when he can. He is not the type of politician who only comes around during an election year. He maintains a local constituent service center here and help can be obtained by visiting the Lowcountry Office at 903 Port Republic Street, Beaufort, SC 29902 or calling Cris Steele or Carl Wedler at 843-521-2530.
