Candidate Support – Chairman – The Beaufort County Repub lican Party knows running for elected office is not an easy task. The party wants to provide support to anyone who seeks office under the Republican flag. The areas of support would include such areas as filing, regulations, fund raising and communications. We cannot conduct your campaign for you but will do everything we can to give you the tools to run a successful effort.

Communications – Chairman – The goal of the communications committee is to have timely accurate information flowing from the party to members and interested non-members. At the same time, the communications function hopes to maintain quick and easy methods for all persons to be able to communicate with elected and appointed leaders of the BCRP. The communications tools employed are telephone, letter, email and an Internet Web Site. Publicity and Public Relations efforts are driven by specific events. Anyone interested in working with this committee is encouraged to send an email stating your interest to info@beaufortrepublicans.com. Someone will contact you shortly.

Education – - The purpose of the Education Committee is to identify, research, and propose positions on educational issues in Beaufort County and the state of South Carolina. There are many educational issues that affect our community and it is essential that we provide sufficient information for us to make strong policy positions. Our first task is to identify interested members in education and to begin regular meetings.

Election Oversight – Open – There is not a chairperson for this committee just yet. We need someone who will work with other chairpersons to assure elections in Beaufort County are conducted according to the laws, rules and regulations governing them.

Finance –– Chairman - It is the responsibility of this committee to prepare an annual budget for presentation to the Executive Committee after obtaining inputs from the Chairman, the Fund Raising Committee, the Membership Committee and other officers and committee members. The Finance Committee will then monitor spending to insure that it is in line with the budget unless authorized by the Executive Committee.

The Chairman of the Finance Committee will be appointed by the Party Chairman. The Treasurer of the Party will serve as a member of this committee.

Fund Raising – Chairperson - Having sufficient funds to support the Party's programs and the Republican candidates for county and state offices is essential to the success of Republicans in Beaufort county. This committee is charged with planning and executing an annual fundraising event, which is the major source of funds for the Beaufort County Republican Party. This task includes, but is not limited to, selecting a location for the event, recruiting volunteers, seeking out a speaker, preparing and mailing invitations, selecting a menu, coordinating with the event site staff, and decorating the venue.

Membership – Mary Aiana - The goal of the Membership Committee is to help build our Party's strong grass roots work to motivate the greatest number of people to participate, vote and elect our conservative GOP candidates. one of the best ways to achieve this goal is to increase membership in the BCRP by recruiting via mailings, personal recruitment at GOP functions, email, telephone and our Internet Web Site. Anyone interested in working with committee, please send an email stating your interest to info@beaugortrepublicans.com. We will contact you.

Platform, Issues, & Resolutions - Chairman - This committee seeks to identify, research, articulate and disseminate positions on key local, state, and national issues that our Beaufort County Republican Party should support. The product of this work will take the form of resolutions to be approved by our Executive Committee voting members, and should provide direction, motivation, and assistance to our Republican representatives and candidates for office. Additionally, it will provide the foundation and content for developing and updating our Beaufort County Republican Party Platform as well as material for presentation by our delegates at both district and state conventions. Members are encouraged to submit issue material of interest to the following email address: johnl@islc.net

Registration by Party – Chairman - The Registration by Party Committee is not resting on its laurels. Greg Shorey and Randy Bates will both be attending the State Executive Committee Meeting and will remind our State Party Leaders of their obligation to support our legislative efforts now that the resolution has been passed at the State Convention.

Our efforts this Summer and Fall are centered on two directions: first, to research various state laws and use the best language possible in drafting a proposed new law on voter registration. Next, we will lobby those in both the General Assembly and The Senate who will have the most influence to co-sign the bill. We intend to try to have The Bill pre filed for the opening session in January, 2005. We will keep you posted on progress and problems as they occur.
